Innovative content studio FunFair Games has signed an agreement with 5and Planet Games, featuring the development of a crash-style multiplayer title based on the popular TV show and video game character Hugo.

The partnership will give FunFair Games the intellectual property rights to create a new, fast-paced Scandinavian cartoon-themed real-money crash game set to launch worldwide later this year.

The adorable troll Hugo is a fictional character from Danish 5and Planet Games’ hit live interactive game show from the 1990s, broadcast in over 40 countries. Hugo has also featured in several popular video games which achieved great commercial success and received worldwide recognition.

One of the most popular and iconic games featured Hugo flying in a vintage red twin-prop plane, flying through clouds and storms in an attempt to avoid a crash in order to complete the level, complete the mission and win the prize.

Recognizing this part of Hugo’s legacy, FunFair Games will create a crash title featuring the red plane, with players tasked with cashing out their winnings before it crashes, with the multiplier increasing the longer they wait .

The game will include the same mechanics as the first hit title from FunFair Games AstroBoomers: To the Moon!, which remains the provider’s best-performing stock in its growing portfolio.

With the vision of developing a new genre of games for the next generation of gamers, FunFair Games titles deliver multiplayer and crash content that is social, active and simple, providing gamers with a truly entertaining and innovative experience.

Lloyd Purser, COO of FunFair Games, mentioned: “In partnership with 5and Planet Games gives us the opportunity to create a unique and immersive crash-style game, incorporating the fantastic and established brand that is Hugo, enjoying a large fanbase around the world.

“We are currently developing the game with 5and Planet Games and we look forward to bringing it to market later this year.

Mark Stanger, CEO of 5th Planet Games, said“We are thrilled to have this opportunity to partner with Funfair Games as they continue to develop the next generation of high quality, gaming and crypto-style games.

“We can’t wait to see our beloved Hugo brand attract a whole new audience of fans and gamers.”
